The Acorn Estate Agency Group has a track record for supporting local community projects. With thirty offices in South East London and Kent, they operate three key Estate Agency Brands; Acorn, Langford Russell and John Payne. With the recent opening of new offices in Dartford, Bexleyheath and Welling, the decision to support Cray Wanderers Community Scheme was an easy one to make.
Established in 2009, the community team at Cray Wanderers provide education and mentoring for young people through sport. Based in South East London and West Kent, the local coaches are passionate about enhancing the lives of the young people they work with. Be it through holiday clubs, after school lessons or mentoring in pupil referral units, their aim is to promote an equality of opportunity and bring about pathways to employment and educational achievement.
Rob Sargent, CEO of the Acorn Group says of the partnership, ‘When we met Reggie Oliver and Tyrone Stirling, the driving forces behind the scheme, it was obvious their passion for what they do needed promoting and supporting. They are working 7 days a week to ensure their offering reaches and inspires as many young lives in West Kent and SE London as possible. This ethos made it very easy for us to align our Company with Cray Wanderers’.
Club Chairman, Gary Hillman, was delighted to agree the deal with Acorn and pointed out that Cray Wanderers involvement in grass roots football is key to the success of the club. ‘The boys and girls our community team work with are undoubtedly where the stars of the future will come from’.
