A new venture for Cray Wanderers and its future integration begins this evening as Phil Foster’s U21 side start life in the Ryman Development League North. They begin with a trip to Brentwood Town with a 7.45 ko.
Here is the address if anyone is keen to travel out on a Thursday night.
Brentwood Town FC
The Brentwood Centre
Essex CM15 9NN
The centre of Brentwood is approximately 1½ miles from junction 28 of the M25. From the eastern end (Wilsons Corner) of the High Street, turn North into Ongar Road. At the third mini roundabout take the right hand fork into Doddinghurst Road. The Brentwood Centre is a further half a mile, on the right just after the A12 bridge. Once you enter the Centre the football ground entrance is in the far right hand corner of the car park. There are normally vast amounts of parking available, but beware when special events are taking place at the Brentwood Centre, as the car park can then become very congested.
Brentwood station is on the Great Eastern Line, approximately 35 minutes from Liverpool Street, and is about 1¾ miles from the Brentwood Centre.
Other than weekday rush hours there is no bus direct to the Brentwood Centre from Brentwood Station. However, the 73 runs approximately every 15 minutes, via the High Street and Doddinghurst Road, to the Bishops Hall Estate, turning off into Elizabeth Road just before the Centre. The station is about 10 minutes walk from the High Street from where the 261 runs everyhour, on the half hour, to The Brentwood Centre.
The team begin their home schedule this Monday at Holmesdale FC with a tasty looking clash with Ryman Premier opponents in Billericay Town and will be followed on Monday 12th September with a home game against AFC Hornchurch.
We will endeavour to give you the best possible coverage of their progress this season as an U21 side is good news for the first team and for the further expansion of the club and a chance to blood some future stars.
