FOOTBALL CONFERENCE YOUTH ALLIANCE
Division G: 30/9/15
Charlton Athletic Trust (0) 5
Cray Wanderers (1) 1
The Cray Wanderers Academy team were beaten in their second game of the season as five second half goals saw Charlton Athletic Trust defeat the Wands at Meridian Sports Ground.
Cray had the better of the opening half and led at the break before being overrun in the second period.
The Wands looked the sharper in the first half and Toby Bennett hit a shot from 20 yards which went wide of the left hand post.
Bennett then set up James Stewart for a shooting opportunity but the ball turned wide by a defender for a corner.
Cray took the lead in the 23rd minute when Stewart was played through one on one with the home keeper and fired home from 20 yards at the keepers near post.
The home side had a lot of the ball after this but didn’t create too many chances as Cray went in 1-0 up at half time.
The second half was a different story as Charlton Athletic Trust attacked from the off and scored three in five minutes to take a grip on the game. The first came in the fiftieth minute through Abadja and two minutes later went ahead with the first of two goals from Moore. Three minutes later a wind assisted effort made it 3-1 before two more goals set the seal on the victory.
The nearest Cray came to responding was through a storming run from Mitchel Francis but his shot went wide. The final scoreline was somewhat hard on Cray but Charlton just had that extra bit of quality in the final third.
The team selection: Sam Crawford, Reece Lockett, Liam Kirkby, Gabriel Moses, Mitchel Francis, Harvey Sansom, Tyler Donkin, George Warren, Toby Bennett, George Leach, James Stewart, Adam Bennett.
