After what has seemed like an eternity after we left the pitch at Harlow Town on 27th April, pre-season officially begins this Saturday, which I’m sure will come as a relief to those missing their fill of Tony Russell’s Cray Wanderers side.
Certainly life in general has been eventful over the last couple of months and with the Wands being relocated to the Ryman South, the fixtures being announced and the cup draws in the diaries we are now ready to embark on a fairly action packed pre-season programme. We hope as many of you can catch the Wands at some point during the next few weeks leading up to the big kick off against Sittingbourne on 13th August. We begin with a game at our new training facilities at NW Kent College with the visit of Ryman North, Aveley who are always a difficult proposition. Justin Gardner’s side are no strangers to the Wands and have met in the Ryman Premier and North in the last few seasons. The Millers finished twelfth in the Ryman North last season and have already begun their pre-season in the last week with wins against Ilford and Buckhurst Hill. They begin their league season at home to Ware on 13th August.
This is the first of four games over the next seven days which sees us travel to Bearsted on Tuesday night and then a trip to Erith Town on Wednesday. We are at Lordswood on Saturday 23rd July. Perhaps the highlight of the pre-season programme is a home friendly against a Leyton Orient side on Tuesday, 26th July. We hope to provide you with as many details of how to travel to some of those games in the next few days.
For those who wish to travel to the game tomorrow please note the kick off is 2pm and not 12 pm as originally stated. Here again are details for how to get to NW Kent College as it is a little bit out of Dartford City Centre.
