Cray Wanderers FC are delighted to offer 25 Free Season Tickets for Sponsorship to aid Orpington’s Bantamweight Boxer Martin Hillman for his upcoming Commonwealth Super-Bantamweight title fight with unbeaten Tanzania’s fighter Anwary Twaha in Ghana in October.

Wands Chairman Gary Hillman greeted Martin as a guest at Cray Wanderers Bank Holiday fixture with Brentwood Town and said “ I know Martin was devastated recently that his Commonwealth Super Bantamweight title fight in London had to be called off due to Visa problems with his opponent “

The original fight for the vacant title was due to take place in Tolworth in July but the fight was cancelled due to visa issues for Anwary Twaha to get to England.

So the only way to get the fight back on was for Martin and his entourage to fly out to Ghana for the 25th October fight and therefore Cray Wanderers FC are pleased to announce that we are helping out with sponsorship by giving Martin 25 Free Season Tickets that he can sell to his supporters.

Martin, born in Sidcup fights out of Orpington and made his debut in 2013.  He has a very respectable record of 19 wins from 26 bouts, won his last fight in February and is unbeaten in his last three bouts

Anwary Twaha who fights out of Tanzania has made an impressive start to his career with 10 wins from 10 fights, 8 by way of knockout.

Martin said “I’m fighting the unbeaten fighter Anwary Twaha (10-0 8kos), which is not an easy task to do away from home but I’m delighted and very much appreciate the generous support Cray wanderers have given me for this fight by sponsoring me.  I will be very proud to fly the Cray Wanderers flag far away from home!”

With hopefully the fight being safely on the club will be looking to screen coverage at Flamingo Park following the Isthmian Premier League game with Dartford on 25th October.

We are proud to offer our assistance with sponsorship to Martin and we wish him well with the fight and preparations.
