Saturday 22nd August: 1st Team – Cray Wanderers vs Eastbourne Borough – 3 pm
Sunday 23rd August – Adobe Women’s FA Cup Preliminary Round – AFC Croydon Athletic vs Cray Wanderers Women – 2 pm
After that brisk start to the season, just one more day until the first real Wands Weekend of 2026-27.

We start on Friday night as defending SCEFL Development League West Champions Cray Wanderers U23s host SC Thamesmead U23s. Cray are likely to have based on the recent friendly with The Charcoal a new set of players coming through this season and should be great to watch at FP on Friday nights.

SC Thamesmead though are always tough opponents and drew 3-3 with Cray last season. There are plenty of evening local derbies to enjoy this season for those that love midweek football.
The First team on Saturday have the first real heavyweight contest of this season with the visit of Isthmian League newcomers Eastbourne Borough.

Eastbourne are one of five teams in this season’s league who were original members of the Conference (now National) South in 2004-05 along with Carshalton Athletic, Lewes, St Albans City and Welling United and spent three seasons in the National so are a very big club at our level but Tosh’s boys are ready for the challenge and should be a great game.
Admission: £15 adults, £10 concs, £5 U18s/17s on the gate or go to the ticketing page for this and other upcoming games.
Then on Sunday it is the start of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Preliminary Round as Danny Stanton’s side make the trip to the Mayfield Stadium to face AFC Croydon Athletic. Kick off 2pm.

The winners host Oxted & District or Camden Town Women in the 1st Round on 6th September. Croydon play in the Greater London Regional League and will be a tough test.

Pre-Season is now thankfully behind us and the real action begins now in league and cups until May.
