ADOBE WOMEN’S FA CUP 2026-27 – PRELIMINARY ROUND – AFC CROYDON ATHLETIC WOMEN vs CRAY WANDERERS WOMEN

Cray Wanderers begin their 2026-27 season with a mouth-watering FA Cup tie as Danny Stanton’s side visit AFC Croydon Athletic for the first time.  Kick off at Mayfield Road, 2 pm

This will be the Wands Women’s third season in the FA Cup and will be looking to advance against Greater London Premier League AFC Croydon Athletic. The winners of this tie will be at home on 6th September vs the winners of the Oxted & District v Camden Town Women Preliminary Round tie.

Cray will kick off their fourth season as a club and the third in the SECWFL Premier with the season beginning in September.  The Wands have looked to strengthen from last season’s third place and SECWFL Cup winning side and recently added centre back Olivia Coldrick on dual reg from Millwall and midfielder Ellie Bovill.

By Car

 Starting from the junction of Thornton Road and Silverleigh Road, take the slight left onto Trafford Road, which becomes Mayfield Road. At the end, you’ll find Mayfield Road Playing Ground. Follow the road around to the left, past the allotments, go through the gates onto the track road, and continue on with the playing field on your right. The Croydon Athletic car park is at the end.

Parking: There is no dedicated spectator parking inside the stadium. Limited parking is available on the surrounding local streets.

 Train

 The Mayfield Stadium is well-served by two nearby railway stations, both located on the Southern Rail network with direct links to London Victoria and London Bridge.

Thornton Heath Station (approx. 15-minute walk):

Exit the station and head south on Brigstock Road. Continue straight until you reach the junction for Mayfield Road. Follow Mayfield Road directly to the stadium entrance.

Norbury Station (approx. 20-minute walk):

Exit onto London Road (A23) and head south towards Thornton Heath. Turn into Mayfield Road and continue until you reach the ground.

BUS

Several local bus routes stop within a short walking distance of the stadium.

Routes 60, 109, and 250 run frequently along London Road.

Routes 198 and 250 serve Thornton Heath high street.

Alighting: Ask for the “Mayfield Road” or “Thornton Heath Pond” stops.
