Cray Wanderers 100 Club Draw Result  –  January 2026

Hello and welcome to all Members of the CWFC 100 Club…. as well as those reading this in the matchday programme.

On Saturday 24th January, we held the draw for the CWFC 100 Club, on another cold but bright day, when Carshalton Athletic visited Flamingo Park. It was a sad day as long serving committee member who had also had the club shop for more than 25 years, Steve Hodson, decided to call it a day. On behalf of everyone connected with Cray Wanderers FC, many thanks for the sterling service you have given us over many year’s but we hope you won’t be a stranger and we will still see you regularly at Flamingo Park and maybe on our travels too.

The match was a surprisingly even contest, especially as Carshalton were in the lower reaches of the table and it was ex-Wand, Ben Mundele who broke the deadlock in the 20th minute, only for Harry Bridle to equalise moments later on 27. Goal attempts were at a premium for both sides in the second half with both teams having chances to take the victory but unfortunately the game fizzled out and Cray now have their 13th draw of the season.

As Chairman, Gary Hillman was going to hand Steve Hodson a momento for his 25 years’ service to Cray at the half time interval, I asked him if he would also do the 100 Club Draw, especially as if he did somehow pull his ball out of the bag, he always donates his winnings back.

So the first ball drawn by Gary out of the tombola, was ball number 30, which belonged to my “team mate” up in the media area, Mark Hunt, (of Mottingham), who wins the first prize of £150. Well done Mark and many congratulations on being this month’s winner.

The second ball drawn out for the second prize of £100, was number 43. This ball belongs to Mark Phillips, of Brentwood, Essex. Mark is the son of our very much-missed Life Vice President and friend Kerry Phillips. Congratulations Mark.

The third and final ball, drawn by Gary (and it just had to happen) was Daniel Hillman of Green-Street-Green, who won £50, with ball number 39. Congratulations Daniel. Unfortunately, I mislaid my sheet with all the numbers on after the draw and later found it in the deep recesses of my coat pocket so I couldn’t announce the winners immediately, so Gary probably still doesn’t even know what he did?

Well done and many congratulations to all our lucky winners and thanks again to all members for your continued support and participation in the 100 Club. The winners have all been contacted and paid their prizes.

Now for the usual any other business!

We would really love to get to the target 100 members, (although getting to 90 would be a start) as it would to boost the prize money I pay out to you as well as enabling me to give more back to the club. So once again, if any of your family and friends wish to join the 100 Club, or if you are reading this in the matchday programme and would like to join, please either go to 100 Club tab on the website, (which I’m advised is going to be more regularly updated) where you can print off a form, or use the form in the matchday programme, (copies gratefully accepted if you do not want to ruin it!). Complete it and send to me at the address provided. I will contact you to select a preferable and available number. You can also catch me on most match days and I can give you a form.

Please also contact me with any changes to your personal circumstances as soon as possible. I will always check first if you are a winner but it just makes it easier for me.

I hope you are enjoying Luca’s match-day commentary, if unable to attend a match and are finding it helpful. He has started attending away fixtures too. Please Log onto to

You have to set up a log in and it did make me download an app called ”Mixlr”. So now when I click on the Mixlr app, it goes straight to “Radio Wands”’

The petition started by Talia Wilson, who helps with matchday hospitality and catering, to improve accessible travel to Cray Wanderers FC, is still running. It currently has 1,148 signatures. It says we need 352 more signatures to reach the next goal?? Please support her efforts and get your friends and family involved too. It can be found at https://chng.it/kyZj9j7zYx

Please also see this related article by old friend of the club, Trevor Mulligan which tells you a bit about our issue!

Better accessibility could mean larger attendances, bigger revenues and ultimately more success on the pitch!

So, until February’s draw, which looking at the fixtures and my diary could be on the day of the Cheshunt match to be played on Saturday 28th ……..

Take care and “Be lucky”.

Cheers!

COYW!!
