Cray Wanderers – New Signings – Chris Dickson, Daniel Uchechi and Richie Danquah

Please see here details of three new arrivals at Cray Wanderers since the last home game. Striker, Chris Dickson, midfielder/winger Daniel Uchechi and defender Richie Danquah. Chris and Daniel made their debuts at Cheshunt last Saturday.

 Chris Dickson                        –           Striker

 Cray Wanderers announce the signing of experienced striker Chris Dickson to the club. Chris joins the Wands after a short spell at Erith & Belvedere following a successful spell at Hornchurch where he was a member of their FA Trophy winning team last season.

 Chris who has been capped twice by Ghana began his career with Erith & Belvedere in 2004 and scored 35 league goals in two seasons before joining Dulwich Hamlet in 2006 scoring 31 goals in the 2006-07 season. This alerted the attention of Charlton Athletic and signed in 2007 and spent three seasons at the Valley making 28 league appearances and scored one FA Cup goal spending loan spells at Crewe, Bristol Rovers and Gillingham. He then spent a successful spell in Cypriot football particularly with AEL Limassol and played in Champions League and Europa League football whilst there and also in Chinese league football. When he returned to England he went into non-league football with Sutton United in 2016 and then on to Chelmsford City, Hampton & Richmond and then signed for Hornchurch in July 2019. Chris has scored close to 200 goals and played on dual registration with Dartford in the 2020-21 season.

 Chris was capped twice by Ghana in the 2008-09 season and played against Cray Wanderers for Hornchurch earlier this season but left the Urchins in October joining his first club Erith & Belvedere.  We welcome Chris to the Wands and hope he enjoys his time with the club. 

           

 Daniel Uchechi          –           Striker

Cray Wanderers announce the signing of forward Daniel Uchechi for his second spell with the club following a short stay in the 2018-19 season.  Daniel comes to Cray from his last club Burgess Hill Town.

Daniel started out as a youth player at Charlton Athletic and signed for West Ham United in 2009 spending loan spells at Leicester City and Sheffield Wednesday where he made one League Cup appearance in 2011. He has also been on the books at Aberdeen and spent some time playing in Sweden and Germany. Upon arriving back in England he has played non-league football for Boreham Wood, Hendon and Hampton & Richmond. He has also represented Nigeria at U20 & U23 level.

Daniel signed for Cray Wanderers in December 2018 and made his debut as a second half substitute at Sevenoaks Town and made seven appearances scoring once in a 6-0 win against Herne Bay before leaving in February to join South Park. He went on to Hornchurch for the 2019-20 season and then on to Burgess Hill Town with a short spell at East Grinstead Town in between.

Richie Danquah                     –           Central Defender

 Cray Wanderers are delighted to welcome Richie Danquah to the club. Richie is a centre-half who has most recently played for Welling United.

 Richie progressed through the Millwall youth system and was an U18s player before being released and joined Kettering Town for the 2014-15 season. He joined Aveley in 2015-16 and then spent a while in Scandinavian club football.   In 2016-17 he played in the Norwegian 3rd Division with FK Gjovik-Lyn and in 2018 he moved to Sweden to play for Vaxjo United and then on to 2nd Division side Eskilstuna City. He joined Welling United in 2020-21 and made three appearances in the truncated season for the Wings in the National South in league and cup.

We welcome Richie to the club and hope he enjoys his time with the Wands.
