A note for Cray Wanderers supporters of a couple of recent arrivals to the club.  Central Defender Matthew Weaire signed in December and has made a couple of winning appearances for the club.  Also, Josh Allen has signed on a month loan from Luton Town and already made his mark with a goal on his debut on Boxing Day.  We welcome Matthew and Josh to the Wands.

    Matthew Weaire Defender

Matthew joined Cray Wanderers  in late December from Sevenoaks Town and the central defender made his debut against Billericay Town on 17th December.

Matthew was with the Chelsea youth set up early in his career but went on to the  Brighton & Hove Albion youth system coming through their U18s in 2018 spending a short loan spell at Gosport Borough. He then went on to the Colchester United U21s  going on loan to Leiston before going on to Lewes for the 2021-22 season making 22 appearances before joining Sevenoaks Town in March 2022. Matthew made 23 appearances for Sevenoaks this season before joining the Wands in December 2022.

Matthew has represented Denmark at U19 level.

   Josh AllenStriker

Josh is a striker who joined Cray Wanderers on a month loan from Luton Town just before Christmas and made a dramatic debut scoring four minutes after coming on as a substitute at Margate on Boxing Day.

Josh, 19 has come through the Luton Town academy as an U12 and signed his first professional form this summer. He was named on the bench for the Carabao Cup tie at Newport County early in the season and has been a success for the development team scoring 33 goals last season. On the evidence of his brief cameo at Margate Josh looks like a player heading for a stellar career and now has his first playing experience of senior team football.
