As expected following an announcement from the Prime Minister once Lockdown 2 ends on 2nd December, England will go into a 3 tier system of approach to keeping Covid-19 under control. Which parts of England go into which tier will be decided on Thursday.

Please see here the three tiers and what each one entails for you and your family.

Level 1 – Medium Alert
Tier 2 – High Alert
Tier 3 – Very High Alert

A bit of interesting news is that outdoor grassroots sports can return from 2nd December so good news for our youth teams who will be raring to resume I’m sure. Also those tier 1 and 2 areas will be allowed to admit supporters to outdoor venues , up to 4000 in tier 1 and 2000 in tier 2. Also spectators can attend indoor events up to 1000 in both tiers. However, if in tier 3 no spectators are allowed or can travel to any tier 1 & 2 clubs. If London, Kent and the Isthmian league area are in tier 3 then unlikely that the league will resume.

PM statement on COVID-19 Winter Plan: 23 November 2020 – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Here is a brief announcement on the FA on the resumption of grass roots football.

We welcome the UK Government’s announcement today and we are very pleased that organised sports, which include Steps 3-6 of the National League System [NLS], Tiers 3-6 of the Women’s Football Pyramid [WFP] and competitive grassroots football, can look forward to resuming from 2nd December.

We are also delighted to see the beginning of the safe return of fans in stadiums for elite sports events and confirmation that spectators at non-elite sports will be able to attend events in line with Covid-secure guidance for each tier.

We will continue our ongoing dialogue with Government to clarify the details and next steps, and provide further updates in due course.’
