Cray Wanderers Women remain top of the table with an 100 % winning record and also seventeen goals scored in victory at Bromley Development.
On an unusually murky afternoon for this September after a spell of sparring Cray went ahead in the tenth minute. From a corner won down the right Marta Little’s ball across came out to Millie Main who from the edge of the D fired in and under the keeper for her first goal of the season.
Bromley were a young side and to be fair kept going right to the end and almost scored on a couple of occasions first half but Cray were professional and clinical going forward.
Adrianna Zak saw a shot from 30 yards held and then in the 26th minute scored a second from the spot. Emily Symonds found Ellie Rivers down the left who played a pass to Ellie Bovill whose shot hit the arm of a defender. Main scored her second with a typically confident penalty.

Ellie Rivers came close when she turned the ball over ar the left post. However in the 34th minute it was 3-0 when down the right Zak’s cross shot was turned in on the line by Rivers.
For Bromley a cross-shot from the no 6 hot the top of the bar but for Cray Lola Collins shot over.
In the 39th minute Cray scored a fourth when Collins down the right set up Zak for a goal her first half performance deserved.
The Wands carried on where left off right at the start of the second half. Cray also have young players especially 16 year old substitute Olivia Climpson and two minutes it was 5-0 when Zak set up Climpson who found the roof of the net from inside the D for a classy finish.
Bromley to their credit never let their heads drop and had a good 10-15 minute spell. The no 21 saw a free kick from 30 yards go over the top.
Showing the dedication and professionalism needed to preserve a clean sheet Bromley threatened via a cross from the no 11 and the no 10 saw her shot at the left post cleared off the line by Maddir Bone. Then the no 14 curled a shot in from the right which hit the left post and came out.
Cray though would finish the game strongly. Daisy Jarrett’s clearance fell to Sarah White who advanced on goal but the keeper made a terrific save to turn the ball aside. Then Climpson was denied down the right by the keeper again as did Zak.
In the 77th minute Cray scored a.sixth goal when from a free kick almost dead centre Hannah Gilmour’s shot was well pushed out but showing predatory instincts Climpson was on hand to tap in.
Three minutes later Climpson completed a hat-trick again from a penalty awarded for handball and made no mistake.
Bromley by now were looking tired and in the 83rd minute the eighth and final goal came when Ruby Fletcher set up Climpson at the right post to net her fourth.
It probably would have been harsh to score more goals but Cray had produced a classic away performance and the bonus of back to back clean sheets. Aside from the FA Cup defeat to Camden Town were without key players the team have been in winning form.
