Cray Wanderers 100 Club Result for March 2026

Hello and welcome to all Members of the CWFC 100 Club…. as well as those reading this, both members and non-members, in the matchday programme…. and if you’re not a member, why not join us? Win a cash prize and help Cray Wanderers FC?

On Saturday 28th March, we held the draw for the CWFC 100 Club for March, on a bright and breezy afternoon in Essex, when we visited Aveley for an Isthmian Premier League fixture. Yes, you are hearing me correct. Due to time limits and me being preoccupied this month, Aveley away was the only possible date to hold March’s draw. Out came the black bag with the small balls in it that previous administrator Kerry Phillip’s used to use when we did the 100 Club draw out of season when a few members of the Cray committee, usually myself, Kerry, Mark Hunt and Peter Jackson, visited hostelries around Kent that unfortunately, we may never visit again.

As usual, the Cray Massive were full of hope and excitement, putting one over our Essex foes, who lied second in the table, but were possibly going to miss out on automatic promotion but needed the points to guarantee home advantage in the play-offs. With all the noise and play coming at the Cray end, that dominance, produced an early Lafeef Adaja goal in the 4th minute. How we didn’t add to that we do not know but we were all hoping that those chances would not come to haunt us in the second half. Remi Sutton, popped up to score a second on 56 and all looked “Rosie in the garden”. Joe Lawday, member of the Massive and I had quite a civilised chat with Aveley’s keeper and he was quite impressed with us, but we did mention our tendency to let in late goals and being draw specialists. Wonder what his thoughts were when it happened again and Cray conceded 2 late goals, on 80 and 89. Another draw? But no, not this time and with Ogunwamide putting in a lovely right wing cross, with the keeper barring down on him, Max Fiddes was on hand to slide the ball, past 2 players standing on the line into the net in the 92nd minute to get that well deserved winner to make it 3-2 to The Wands.

Delerium ensued behind the goal. Great result, great performance. Cray now lie in 7th place with 5 games to go but 7 points off a play-off place. Looks a bit of a mountain to climb but it ain’t over till it’s over. Miracles can happen. Remember “The Great Escape” season. Mustn’t get too overconfident though. On the whole, it’s been a good season, but you do think what could have happened if we had turned some of those draws into wins?

Now to the draw, which was held before the match in the bar. Around a very large round table was myself, Mark Hunt, Cray Massive members David Pittman and Michael Jelliman with Con Maloney, father of our much loved and respected physio Ally, joining us later. Martin Hodson was also with us but I think at the time of the actual draw, he left the scene as he was getting the team line up from Tosh. We asked Con to do the draw, which he was happy to do and these were the balls he drew from the velvet (well sort of velvet) black bag.

The first ball drawn by Con, was ball number 8, which belonged to Debbie Stone, of Green-Street-Green, who wins the first prize of £150. Well done Debbie and congratulations on being this month’s winner.

The second ball drawn out for the second prize of £100, was number 27. This ball belongs to James Wilson, of Swanley. Well done James!

The third and final ball, drawn out of the “black “velvet” bag, and winning £50, was ball number 49, which belongs to Colin Head, of Bromley. Colin attends Flamingo Park quite regularly, sometimes with his son Mikey. Colin also writes the occasional published work on Cray Wanderers as well as articles and match reports for Kent Sports News. Congratulations Colin

Well done and many congratulations to all our lucky winners and thanks again to all members for your continued support and participation in the 100 Club. The winners have all been contacted and prizes will be paid when I get into work on Monday morning.

Now for the usual but necessary other business!

We would really love to get to the target 100 members, (although getting to 90 would be a start) as it would to increase the prize money I pay out to you as well as enabling me to give more back to the club. While sorting out the balls for this draw, I found a bag which contained unused numbers, which I unfortunately had to add to. There were quite a few in there which was quite sad and disappointing to be honest. I would love to put them back, into the main bag, with others. So once again, if any of your family and friends wish to join the 100 Club, or if you are reading this in the matchday programme and would like to join, please either go to 100 Club tab on the website where you can print off a form, or use the form in the matchday programme, (copies gratefully accepted if you do not want to ruin it!). Complete it and send to me at the address provided. I will contact you to select a preferable and available number. You can also catch me on most match days, “hopping” around the ground and I can give you a form.

CRAY WANDERERS NEEDS YOU! We’ve done really well this season but to progress further, we do need a bit more help. Please join the CWCF 100 Club draw. Help the club and win a cash prize!

Please also contact me with any changes of contact details or your personal circumstances as soon as possible. It would be nice that I didn’t have to find out after I have checked the account and have to make enquiries. However, I will always check first, especially if you are a winner, just in case and now I usually pay prizes out by bank transfer, it does make things easier.

The petition started by Talia Wilson, who helps with matchday hospitality and catering, to improve accessible travel to Cray Wanderers FC, is still running. It currently has 1,368 signatures. 35 last month and slowly rising. We now need 132 more signatures to reach the next goal?? Please support her efforts and get your friends and family involved too. It can be found at https://chng.it/kyZj9j7zYx

Please also see this related article by old friend of the club, Trevor Mulligan which tells you a bit about our issue!

Better accessibility could mean larger attendances, bigger revenues and ultimately, we would hope, more success on the pitch!
