A note for Cray Wanderers supporters that a groundsharing arrangement with Bexley FC has been announced and begins from the 2024-25 season.
Bexley FC play in the Kent County League Premier and finished 13th last season following promotion as Division One West Champions in 2022-23. Bexley play in yellow and black so will feel well at home at Flamingo Park. Please note this will only be for the Bexley first team who will play when the Cray Wanderers first team are away and not the Reserve side who play in Division Two of the Kent County League.
The Wands and Bexley used to be fairly regular opponents and met in the Kent Amateur League immediately after World War II until 1950-51 but especially in cup competitions with three successive meetings in the Kent Amateur Cup at the end of the 1950’s which Cray won but Bexley did beat Cray in 1966-67. Also there were three FA Amateur Cup games all won by Cray in 1962-63, 1964-65 and 1973-74 and two ties in the Metropolitan League Cup. The last time we met in league competition was in the Wands 1974-75 Metropolitan London League title season with Cray winning both matches. The final competitive game was in the London Spartan League Cup on 1st May 1978 with Cray winning 4-0 at Bexley.
We extend a warm welcome to the Officials, Volunteers, Management, Players and Supporters of Bexley FC to Flamingo Park and hope they enjoy the facilities and hospitality at the new home of the Wands
