Cray Wanderers Announcement – Danny Stanton appointed Cray Wanderers Women Manager assisted by Claire Goldsmith
Cray Wanderers are delighted to announce the appointment of Danny Stanton as Manager of the Women’s team for the 2025-26 season. This follows the resignation and departure of Dean Jarman earlier this month.
Danny in his few years at the club following the introduction of Girls’ Football to Flamingo Park in the early 2020’s has been a huge success guiding the U15s team from last season which set an incredible precedent winning five trophies including success at Boys’ league level. This followed the two previous seasons with Kent County Cup successes at U13s and U14s level and also an Junior Premier League Cup Final appearance against Arsenal two seasons ago.
Danny was appointed head of the Women and Girls section of the club in May this year and now has accepted the role of Women’s First team manager.
Danny will be assisted by Claire Goldsmith who captained the Women’s team following its inception with Cray Wanderers in 2023 and part of the side which won the SECWFL Division One West title in 2023-24 and despite a serious injury began last season in the Premier Division. Claire is an experienced player having played for Charlton and Crystal Palace earlier in her career and will work alongside.
At the same time the club owe a huge debt of gratitude and thanks to Dean Jarman and Claire Willicombe who helped guide the team following the introduction of the Women’s team in 2023-24 and helped put the club on the map and become a respected member of the South East Countied Women’s Football League with a title and a third place finish.
We wish them well in their future endeavours and say thank you once again.
