Cray Wanderers Women advanced to a second cup semi- final of the season after a fine all round performance to win at Kings Hill helped by three first half goals and a fourth goal near the end.
Cray had advanced past Gravesham and Park Regis to reach the last eight scoring twelve goals in the process and faced a Kings Hill side above Cray in the SECWFL Premier.
The Wands who are also through to the semi-finals of the SECWFL Cup where they face Parkwood Rangers on Sunday (1st March), Millie Main found Ellie Rivers who fired wide on a one on one after just four minutes.
Cray though took the lead in the eighth minute when following a goalmouth scramble Frankie Mardon curled in a shot which the keeper couldn’t hold to get the Wands off to a perfect start.
Three minutes later it was 2-0 when Chloe Francis lofted in an effort from eighteen yards and Cray had a buffer of a lead in the early stages.
Cray went three nil up in the twenty sixth minute when Francis’ right wing cross was turned in from ten yards by Main.
The Wands continued to press for more goals in the second half with Tayla Williams went through on goal but fired over the bar on the hour. Then with quarter of an hour to go Chloe Obando cut inside to fire in a shot which the Kings Hill keeper did well to push out.
With ten minutes left Sarah White from six yards saw her header put behind from a corner from which Ellie Cole hit the post.
In the 85th minute Kings Hill pulled a goal back but Cray went back up the other end and instantly made it 4-1 when Maddie Bone sown the right crossed for White to score.
There was still time for Zaira Aimey in the Wands goal to make a great save in the last minute and Bone saw a shot saved for Cray but had done enough to advance to the last four of the competition.
