Cray Wanderers Women vs AFC Croydon Athletic – Isthmian Women’s League Cup 2nd Round – Friday 30th October, 7.45 pm.

Cray Wanderers are in cup tie action under the lights on Friday winding down October as Danny Stanton’s side face AFC Croydon Athletic for the second time this season, this time in the Isthmian Women’s League Cup.

The Wands couldn’t have done much more at the start of this season especially in the league with seven wins out of seven to steal a march and an six point lead at the top of the SECWFL Premier.

Cray have already covered new ground in this midweek competition by reaching the 2nd Round and did so with a famous win against Sutton United Women who play two divisions above Cray back in September. The match finished 1-1 with Olivia Climpson scoring for Cray but the Wands showed nerve to win on penalties.

When the sides met at Greater London League Croydon in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup on 23rd August the Wands were 3-1 winners with an Ellie Rivers penalty and second half goals from Maddie Bone and Izzy Jose.

Cray Wanderers Women are always worth a watch and on a Friday night on the eve of Halloween why not come along and watch a team with 47 goals scored in the league this season.
