SECWFL Premier – Cray Wanderers Women 4 (Little 5, 25, Rivers 56, Gooding 87) Hollands & Blair Women 1
Cray Wanderers Women make it six wins out of six with another stylish victory against Hollsnds & Blair at a chilly Flamingo Park.
The Wands who beat the Gillingham side 6-2 last weekend got off to a quick start here going in front in five minutes when Olivia Climpson and
Frankie Mardon combined to set up Marta Little for a sweet half volley from just outside the area.
The game was a good watch and Cray wen two up twenty minutes later when from a short corner Adrianna Zak down the left played a ball to the
far post for Little to score from close range.
Hollands & Blair had the chance to score from the spot for a handball offence but the no 10’s kick was well saved by Daisy Jarrett.
Cray played well second half and Sarah White was twice denied but it was 3-0 on 56 mins when Ellie Rivers tapped home a Zak cross.
Holllands did pull a well worked goal back on 71 via a sublime finish from the 14.
Unfortunately there was a couple of key injuries for Hollands & Blair including Beth Ford who was taken off on a stretcher and we wish her well.
The final goal in the 87th minute albeit with over ten minutes added on and a goal on her debut for Lucy Gooding who rifled home through a crowd of players and later volleyed over.
Cray saw out the game and credit to both teams for a fine game but the Wands go marching on and are six points clear of Kings Hill and Kent United and next week visit Tunbridge Wells Foresters, 3 pm
.
