A huge week in the short history of the Cray Wanderers Women’s team begins this afternoon as the Wands welcome SECWFL Premier league leaders Tonbridge Angels to Flamingo Park. KO 3 pm.

Danny Stanton’s team play in their first ever Cup Final on Thursday 16th April vs Maidstone United in the Kent FA Plate Final but first must concentrate on the challenge of Tonbridge Angels.

Cray lie 3rd in the table on 23 points and rather too far behind Angels who have 42 points, one ahead of Maidstone United.

Tonbridge had looked invincible in the league winning their first 14 matches before losing 3-2 at Maidstone United two weeks ago to narrow the gap.

This will be Cray’s first game since a 9-0 win vs Hollands & Blair on 22nd March and can be buoyed by a recent 4-1 win at home to Tonbridge in the Kent Plate Semi-Final on 15th March with goals from Chloe Francis, Maddie Bone, Ellie Rivers and Sarah White.

When the teams met at Tonbridge on 2nd November Angels were flying and won 7-3 with Charlotte Cresswell (3), Hope Mumford (2), Aimee Churchill and Grace Mayhead scoring with Millie Main (2) and Grace Laverick scoring for Cray.

Games between the Wands and Angels are always competitive and this should be no different.
