Cray Wanderers U23s can go a long way to becoming SCEFL Development West Champions tonight as the Wands who currently top the table head to Snodland Town.
Cray top the table level on 40 points with Hollands & Blair and Corinthian with Cray having a superior goal difference. The Wands have one more game to play following tonight at Kent United on 12th May. Hollands & Blair technically have a game left but looks to be against a Croydon side who have games called off coming up so the Medway side may be awarded points for that game. Corinthian who won their last game at Tunbridge Wells on Monday night have no further matches to play.
Last time out Cray were 6-1 winners vs Erith & Belvedere at Flamingo Park last Friday with six different scorers. Corey Holden, George Brooke, Ellis Marsh, Uziel Bateki, Dean Beaney and Tanitoluwa Jegede all scored to help cement Cray’s +10 goal difference.
Cray though will have to work hard tonight against a Snodland Town side who were one of only two teams to beat the Wands, 2-1 at Flamingo Park on 13th February and are 5th in the table.
It has been no fluke that Cray top the league and have been outstanding through the season and are close to having something to show for their efforts.
