Cray Wanderers FC Announce ground share arrangement with AFC Whyteleafe – 2026-27 season

Following recent consultation and agreement between both clubs, Cray Wanderers FC can announce AFC Whyteleafe will be ground-sharing at Flamingo Park for the 2026-27 season. AFC Whyteleafe have issued their statement to announce to their supporters.

The Surrey club who were reformed in 2021 following the closure of the previous Whyteleafe club are hugely upwardly mobile and have achieved three successive promotions from SCEFL Division One, Combined Counties League Premier and on Friday 1st May achieved promotion from the Isthmian South-East at the first time of asking and also made an FA Vase Final appearance in 2025.

Cray Wanderers Chairman, Gary Hillman spoke about the ground-share arrangement and echoes of what he and the club had to do with a home ground issue.

“I and Cray Wanderers FC would like to welcome AFC Whyteleafe, Kelly Waters and his officials and Ennio Gonnella and his management team and players and supporters to Flamingo Park for the 2026-27 season. We are proud as a club to assist AFC Whyteleafe and provide them with a home for their first ever season as a Step 3 club.

When I first became Chairman in 1994 we were in a similar situation to AFC Whyteleafe at Oxford Road, Sidcup so their current situation is perfectly understandable and we are pleased to help out a fellow non-league club in the way Bromley did for us back in 1998. We are delighted to welcome to AFC Whyteleafe to Step 3 football next season.”

Once league allocations have been decided by the FA next month the clubs could be opponents on the field in the Isthmian Premier which would echo Cray Wanderers first ever season in the Isthmian Division One in 2004-05 where the Wands played landlords Bromley.

As a welcome to AFC Whyteleafe and a chance for both clubs to get acquainted the two sides will play in a pre-season friendly at Flamingo Park on Saturday 4th July with free entry for all supporters.

More details about this situation will follow in due course ahead of pre-season and the start of the season to keep supporters updated.
