CRAY WANDERERS – FC KAWOOYA VETERANS TEAM – A NEW PARTNERSHIP
Cray Wanderers are delighted to announce and exciting era of partnership with FC Kawooya as part of the Cray Wanderers Veterans team. This partnership will begin this Saturday (19th September) as Cray Wanderers FC Kawooya play their first game of the season in the Southern Veterans Football League away to Catford based AFC Kumazi Strikers with the first home match on 26th September vs FC Reynolds Veterans, 2.30 pm kick off on the grass pitch.
FC Kawooya were formed in 2012 as a tribute and in memory of a footballing friend Derek Kawooya who sadly passed away on a football scholarship in the USA. This led to the club run by Ray Harrison to continue to keep the memory of Derek going while helping players at the twilight/end of careers or those looking to gain fitness play competitively on Saturdays.
FC Kawooya have been a successful Sunday League side winning the Bartholomew Bowl Cup for the second time and Bill Braisted Cup Winners in 2025-26 and Met League Champions in 2024-25 and now alongside Cray Wanderers take the step up to Saturday league football.
