Cray Wanderers head to Essex for game 6 of the 9 match pre-season schedule with a visit Aveley and the impressive facilities at Parkside.

The Wands played well at Burgess Hill on Saturday in what was a very good competitive game.  Cray twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with second half goals from Freddie Parker & Joe Taylor and followed on from the 4-2 win at VCD the previous Tuesday.

Aveley will be strong opponents this evening and like Cray, Keith Rowland’s team had a good season in 2019-20 before it’s early end and were placed 2nd in the Isthmian North and reached the last 8 of the FA Trophy.  Their pre-season has seen a 2-1 home win vs Welling United last Tuesday and a 0-1 home loss to Kingstonian on Saturday.  They begin their 2020-21 campaign with an away FA Cup tie on Saturday 12th September at either Redbridge or Harpenden Town and their first Isthmian North match is at home to Dereham Town on Saturday 19th September.

Cray meanwhile have a couple of mouthwatering home games upcoming against National League and National South opposition in Bromley and Welling United before completing pre-season at Hayes & Yeading United on September 12th. Things are just slowly starting to resemble something like normality.

Admission prices are £5.00 adults, £1.00 kids.
