Result – FA Youth Cup Extra-Preliminary Round
Sevenoaks Town 0 Cray Wanderers 3 (Michael Ihiedi 8 mins, 55, Jaylen Bains 25)
Congratulations to the Cray Wanderers U18s who advanced into the Preliminary Round of the FA Youth Cup after a fine performance to win at Sevenoaks Town.
The Wands got off to a great start with Michael Ihiedi, one of the many stars of last season’s FA Youth Cup run to the 3rd Qualifying Round slotting home in the 8th minute.
The game went from end to end with opportunities for both sides but Cray were clinical and Jaylen Bains made it two nil in the 25th minute with another composed finish.
Cray continued to look the livelier in attack and added a third with Ihiedi’s second goal ten minutes after the break to clinch the win and a real morale boost for the side with the league season not due to start until September.
Cray will now travel to Hollands & Blair in the Preliminary Round in early September.
Well done to the team and management and the young Wands are off and running for the season.
