All at Cray Wanderers FC are delighted to welcome Smurfit Kappa Recycling as sponsors of the club and we say thank you for your valued support.

Smurfit Kappa are based in Snodland, Kent at the site of the paper mill and are a FTSE 100 company. The company are one of the leading providers of paper based packaging in the world and provide operations in 36 countries in Europe and around the world. They also specialise in recycling and their partnership with Cray Wanderers is through our providing waste cardboard boxes for recycling purposes.

Smurfit Kappa produce 8.3 million tonnes of paper and cardboard per year, 12.5 billion square metres of corrugated packaging and 7.4 million tonnes of recycled paper and cardboard per year. The company owns 68,000 hectares of forest around the world which provides ethical, financial and environmental benefits and helps to provide resources for the work they do.

Smurfit Kappa was founded in 1934 in Ireland and became known as Jefferson Smurfit four years later as a producer of cardboard boxes across Ireland and later across the Atlantic into the United States. Their use of specially acquired land for their materials from their forestry and paper mills has proved popular and a modern way of recycling waste into fresh paper and packaging.

In 2005 Jefferson Smurfit merged with Kappa Packaging a Dutch based company and a leading provider of corrugated and cardboard packaging and have a large number of outlets across the UK.

We are delighted to have Smurfit Kappa on board as sponsors and a lot of the work we do in the community and as a thriving club may well not happen with our valued sponsors.
