Cray Wanderers brought their pre-season campaign to a ultra professional way with victory at Isthmian South-Central South Park (Reigate).
On a terribly wet early August afternoon, both teams came into the game in confident mood.  South Park had a 100% home winning record over pre-season while Cray had won three and drawn two out of six pre-season games.
Neil Smith named a strong starting lineup although Cameron Black picked up a slight hamstring tweak and missed the game.  Included in the starting lineup was one of Herne Bay’s stars of last season, Mason Saunders-Henry and ex Fulham and Barnsley player Cameron Thompson who had featured throughout pre-season.
The Wands set about their task well and Nyren Clunis notched his first goal of pre-season after 15 minutes.  This was followed by a second goal, eight minutes before half time by Yahya Bamba.
The second half saw a handful of changes but Cray still had a strong side and Clunis added his second just before the hour.   The scoring was completed on a job well done by substitute Rio Campbell six minutes from the end.
Cray now go into the start of the league season next Saturday in good heart after a solid six weeks preparation with a tough trip to Lewes but can go there in a positive frame of mind.
