Cray Wanderers 100 Club Draw Result – June 2025

Hello and welcome to all Members of the CWFC 100 Club.

We’re almost there folks. The start of “Proper Football” and the return of the Isthmian Premier League, where we will welcome Canvey Island on Saturday 9th August to Flamingo Park. All the pre-season friendlies went well but the true test is when the season starts and we play proper matches. Hopefully Tosh and Stimo have all the players fit and raring to go.

But the Cray Wanderers 100 Club Draw continues. As previously mentioned, finding suitable venues during the close season has been difficult since we have lost 2 members of our Committee. We held May’s at my sisters house and got my nephew to do the draw and then June’s had to be done at the beginning of July.

So it next available date for July’s draw was 2nd August, on the day of our final pre-season friendly against National League South opposition, Maidstone United, who came close to a return to the National League last season only losing in the National South playoff final to Boreham Wood so we were expecting a tough test. But a comfortable 2-0 victory was gained with goals from Ashley Nzala and Lafeef Adaja.

We asked Luca Viscogliosi to do the draw. If you don’t know who Luca is……I’ll tell you!

Cray Wanderers have been piloting a matchday commentary service called “Radio Wands” Our first attempt (could have been versus Sittingbourne) had a few teething problems and didn’t start on kick off but it wasn’t long before a few people in attendance were watching the match and listening to Luca’s superb commentary. At the game with Maidstone United, all went without any hitches so it is hoped this will be a regular feature..

Hopefully you can access it here.

You obviously have to set up a log in and it did make me download an app called ”Mixlr”. So now when I click on the Mixlr app, it goes straight to “Radio Wands”

I know a lot of you “100 Clubbers” are unable to attend matches at Flamingo Park in person for a number of reasons, so this is a great way of keeping in touch with what is going on at Flamingo Park on matchdays.

So onto the draw and the first ball drawn by Luca out of the tombola was ball number 36, which belongs to Shirilee Savill of Whitstable (love Whitstable!), who wins the first prize of £150. Well done Shirlee and many congratulations on being this month’s winner.

The second ball drawn out for the second prize of £100, was number 16. This ball belongs to Theresa Parkes, of Lee in South East London, a relatively new participant. Congratulations Theresa.

The third and final ball, drawn by Luca and the winner of £50, went to Lee Roblett, of Dartford, with ball number 67. Congratulations Lee.

Many congratulations to all our lucky winners and thanks again to all members for your continued support and participation in the 100 Club.

I will be in touch soon to find out your preferences on how you would like to receive your winnings.

Now the usual admin. With attendances growing at home and a “Massive” (pardon the pun) increase in our away support, we are only seeing a very slow increase in 100 Club membership. The directors had hoped to reach the 100 mark, prompted by the move to Flamingo Park. If any of your family or friends or any of our growing band of new supporters would like to join the 100 Club, win a prize and help Cray Wanderers FC, please go to the 100 Club tab on the website, print off a form and send the completed form to me at the address provided. A form is also in the new-styled matchday programme (unfortunately it now includes a mug-shot of yours truly so apologies for that!). Again, copy it if you don’t want to ruin your programme and again send to me. I will contact you to select a preferable and available number. An increase in membership will mean an increase in prize money or even prizes and a ultimately a larger donation to the Football Club.

Please also contact me with any changes to your personal circumstances as soon as possible. For one, how will I know where to send your winnings?

The petition started by Talia Wilson, who helps with matchday hospitality and catering to improve accessible travel to Cray Wanderers FC, has had an increase in signatures but unfortunately, we need more. Please support her efforts and get your friends and family involved too. It can be found at https://chng.it/kyZj9j7zYx

So, until August’s draw, which we actually would like and to attempt to hold in August, take care and “Be lucky”.

Cheers!

COYW!!
